Creek Care..
Memberships, donations, sponsorships
The Puffin Foundation, Bergen County, and Green Acres already have provided $1,000,000 in
funding and additional in-kind support to build the Teaneck Creek Conservancy’s trail system. However, more funding is needed to complete and maintain this new park.

Your participation in our Creek Care program of memberships, donations, and sponsorships is
vital to our ability to provide park programs, services, and facilities. The Conservancy welcomes the participation of individuals, families, businesses, and community organizations.

Please print and fill out a membership application and mail it in today! We also have special sponsorship opportunities. Call our Executive Director at 201-836-2403 to discuss how your
donation can help build and sustain this new park and its programs.

Creek Corps
Park stewardship, volunteer opportunities
Join Creek Corps to find park stewardship and volunteer opportunities to fit your interests and schedule. Email Executive Director Jonne McCarron at teaneckcreek@mindspring.com to join the volunteer listserve. Volunteer opportunities at the Teaneck Creek Conservancy for groups and individuals include:

• Adopt-A-Trail: Work at your own pace at a time and outdoor site you select at the Teaneck Creek Conservancy. You must be willing to come to one volunteer training session and make a six-month stewardship commitment.

• Wetlands Restoration Team: Work under the guidance of Master Gardeners, Volunteer Leaders,
and Wetlands Scientists from Rutgers University to restore more than 20 acres of wetlands over the next four years. Volunteers remove invasive vegetation and debris, replant with indigenous native plantings, tend the native plant nursery in the Turtle Peace Labyrinth, and create test plots. Your volunteer hours help the Teaneck Creek Conservancy provide required matching in-kind services for a $300,000 NJ Wetlands Mitigation Council grant that the Conservancy received in September 2004.

• Turtle Peace Labyrinth: Gardeners are needed to weed, plant native plantings, and keep the labyrinth’s pathways clear of leaves. This is the Conservancy’s most cultivated garden spot. Take
this opportunity to volunteer in a beautiful forest clearing where you will be able to take a refreshing walk on the labyrinth while you give community service.

• Help-an-Artist: Artists work at the Teaneck Creek Conservancy on facilities, eco-art, and programs. Volunteers are needed to help create and maintain performative eco-art works.

• Special Volunteer Days: We welcome the participation of groups in our volunteer and stewardship programs. Call us at 201-836-2403 to schedule a special volunteer event at the Teaneck Creek Conservancy for your corporate, community, school, service, or faith-based group.
