Join the Teaneck Creek Conservancy and the Jack Flamholz Water Sustainability Project for a fun-filled day of water exploration at the Teaneck Creek! Kicking-off this event will be an interpretive dance and music performance by Nikki Manx Dance Studio and Englewinds oboist Sarah Davol at our beautiful Five Pipes Mural. Following up, musician and storyteller Lauren Hooker will bring to life the Lenape Creation Story of Turtle Island with Native American flute music, percussion, interactive sign language and songs. The session will culminate with a celebratory community toe heel dance around the Turtle Labyrinth. Next, visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the history of water use in Teaneck and Bergen County while checking out Teaneck Creek’s new rain water harvest system! Children of all ages will be invited to lend their artistry in developing mural design for the barrels with members of Teaneck Creek’s Eco-Art Committee. Visitors will even have a chance to see the rain barrels in use at two other locations in Teaneck—Hawthorne Elementary and a private residence. 

This event will take place at Teaneck Creek Conservancy, 20 Puffin Way Teaneck NJ 07666 on October 8, 2017 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. In case of acclimate weather, the event will be moved indoors to the Puffin Cultural Forum. Snacks will be provided, but feel free to bring packed lunches for picnicking!
