TEANECK, NJ--Teaneck Creek Conservancy has set Sunday June 7 as the date to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its founding, an occasion to recognize the individuals and organizations that have invested in, empowered, and advanced the movement for resilient, thriving natural spaces. This year’s annual fundraising event will pay tribute to:
● The Puffin Foundation, Ltd. for its quarter century of generous financial support;
● Bergen County Commissioner Germaine Ortiz on behalf of the Bergen County Board of County Commissioners for their longtime partnership with the Conservancy and steadfast support of the ecological restoration of Teaneck Creek County Park;
● and Teaneck Public Library for its long-standing commitment to joint community programming.
The Teaneck Creek Conservancy was established in 2001 as a non-profit organization to steward a 46-acre section of Overpeck County Park after the former landfill site was reclaimed with public funds. In the intervening years, community volunteers and supporters of the Conservancy have helped usher a steady resurgence of native plant growth, including a variety of gardens featuring microclimates that are hospitable to a growing number and variety of migrating bird species. The Champagne Brunch fundraiser will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 7th, at Sanzari's New Bridge Inn, 105 Old Newbridge Road, New Milford.
