Discover the perfect gathering space at Teaneck Creek, where nature and community come together! Whether you're a scout group eager to learn in our outdoor classroom with its beautiful demonstration wetland garden, an environmental organization seeking inspiration in the fresh air, or a book club looking for a peaceful retreat, we have the ideal setting for you. Enjoy a picnic with your organizing comrades at our picnic area with three tables, or hold meaningful discussions and reflections at our serene Labyrinth, featuring a ring of stone seats for eight and low log perimeter that accommodates up to 40 guests. Surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature, your group will find Teaneck Creek to be a welcoming and rejuvenating space for learning, connecting, and creating lasting memories. Come explore, engage, and be inspired!
Rentals are required for all groups of 10+ people. Groups of less than 10 may use unoccupied areas on a first come first serve basis.
Rentals may be scheduled between the hours of 7:00am – 9:00pm, seven days a week.
Your rental includes exclusive use of the space for a minimum of 1 hour. Please see Group Use Expectations for guidance on appropriate usage of the space.
Your rental includes 15 minutes of set up and 15 minutes of clean up time. More time may be available with advanced request.
Teaneck Creek Conservancy will post signage at the entrance of the space indicating the duration of your private program including set up and clean up.
All of our rental spaces are outdoors are exposed to the elements. We do not have indoor space in the event of inclement weather. You are welcome to schedule a rain date at the time of booking at no additional cost.
Your rental fees only cover the use of space. Conservancy staff may not be available at the time of your event, especially if it is in the evening or on a weekend. You may request staff support for an additional fee, pending staff availability.
Teaneck Creek Park does not have bathrooms on site. Please plan your trip accordingly. The closest comfort station in the Overpeck County Park system is at Area III along DeGraw Ave (directions).
Groups may pay with check, cash, or credit. An advanced deposit of 50% is required to confirm your rental. Submitting a request does not constitute authorization. Once authorized by the Conservancy (including the receipt of the deposit) the application is considered a binding contract.
Important Notice:
Groups that use the park without notifying the Teaneck Creek Conservancy and forgo paying the required rental or program fees may have limited access to gathering spaces and trails. Priority will be given to Conservancy programs and private groups that have officially booked through our office. The Conservancy reserves the right to request that unscheduled groups modify their plans or reschedule their visit in the event of a conflict. To ensure a smooth experience, all groups are required to coordinate their visits through the Conservancy in advance.

Nestled in the heart of the woods, our outdoor classroom offers a peaceful retreat where nature takes center stage. At its heart lies a vibrant demonstration wetland garden, a favorite summer bird-watching spot where orioles flash their brilliant colors and hummingbirds hover among the blossoms. This hidden refuge, tucked away from the sounds of the street, provides a tranquil setting for gatherings, lessons, or quiet reflection. In late summer, the jewelweed bursts into bloom, its delicate orange flowers attracting pollinators while its seed pods offer a fun surprise—popping open at the lightest touch. Seating up to 30, this unique space invites discovery and connection with the natural world. Intrepid explorers and scientifically inclined groups can take their curiosity further by investigating the nearby creek, where a fascinating world of aquatic life awaits with tiny invertebrates providing food for our frog and bird residents. Before or after your gathering, take a moment to relax on our beautifully crafted Mosaic Bench at the entrance, where you can soak in the gentle sights and sounds of the creek.
The outdoor classroom is a short walk from the Fycke Lane entrance. Estimated ~350 feet.
The Outdoor Classroom has been built to be accessible. Strollers, walkers, and wheelchairs can navigate the space, but the trail conditions to the outdoor classroom
Facility limitations:
Street parking only.
This is an outdoor space featuring a ground level plank platform with a railing along the outside perimeter and seating around the perimeter. The center of the platform is cutaway and features our demonstration wetland garden. Please note the garden does not have a rail and the space does not have a roof.
No electricity or water.
No bathrooms.
Please note: the back boardwalk from the Outdoor Classroom is currently closed for repairs.
Rent our Picnic Area
Perfect for: scouts, school clubs, science clubs, yoga practitioners who don’t mind setting their mats and materials on grass, and programs that need some flat table space for either setting up food or materials.

Midway between the Puffin Way and Fycke Lane entrances lies the inviting Picnic Area, a perfect spot for groups to gather, play, and enjoy the beauty of Teaneck Creek. This shady retreat offers stunning views of our vibrant wet meadows, providing a peaceful yet open space for a variety of activities. Whether you're hosting a meeting, engaging in hands-on projects, or organizing games that require room to move, this area is an ideal setting. With three picnic tables for materials or meals, two benches for additional seating, and a convenient trash can to help keep the space clean, it’s well-suited for scout troops, nature clubs, or any group looking to connect in the fresh air. Bring your energy, creativity, and curiosity—this versatile space is ready for your next outdoor adventure!
850 feet from the parking lot at Puffin Way or 1500 feet from the Fycke Lane entrance.
Please note, if you have food, you will need to have someone keep an eye on it, so the animals do not help themselves to it. There is a trash can at this location.
Facility limitations:
Not accessible.
The picnic tables are usually spread apart to allow park users their own quiet retreats. We periodically mulch under the tables to keep the grasses down, but you are welcome to move the tables to better suit your needs - but if you do so, please return them to their original locations.
Requires a short hike from either entrance. All materials must be carried or carted in. 850 feet from the parking lot at Puffin Way or 1500 feet from the Fycke Lane entrance.
Please note that if you are entering the park from the Puffin Way entrance, you will need to cross stepping stones to access the Picnic area.
If you are accessing the Picnic Area from Fycke Lane, there is one slope that is challenging for strollers and carts.

Rent our Peace Labyrinth
Perfect for: garden clubs, scouts, school groups, musical groups, poetry recitals, yoga enthusiasts who are willing to put up with a hard surface for a beautiful environment

At the heart of Teaneck Creek, the Peace Labyrinth is a serene and meditative space that welcomes groups seeking reflection, connection, and creativity. Surrounded by a lush native plant garden, this enclosed sanctuary offers a peaceful retreat from the bustle of daily life. Whether you're practicing yoga with your thickest mats over the concrete stones, playing music in harmony with nature, or simply enjoying a moment of stillness, the Labyrinth invites you to slow down and be present and in community with your fellow scouts, musicians, and practitioners. The central stone ring provides intimate seating for up to eight, perfect for small group discussions or quiet contemplation, while the perimeter is lined with logs that offer additional seating for larger gatherings. The open center space also serves as a natural stage, making it an inspiring setting for poetry readings, storytelling, or any event where you want to spotlight individual presenters. No matter how you choose to use it, the Peace Labyrinth provides a welcoming and grounding space to gather, create, and reflect.
900 feet from the parking lot at the Puffin Way entrance. Also conveniently 900 feet from the offices at Glenpointe. Have a special mid-work day retreat for your employees!
Facility Limitations:
Requires a short hike from either entrance. All materials must be carried or carted in.
From Puffin Way, visitors may take the stairs at the kiosk down into the park. If visitors would rather not use the stairs they can enter the park by the maintance sheds or cross Puffin Way and enter the park at the entrance at the bottom of Puffin Way.
Visitors from Glenpointe descend down a flight of stairs and use the stepping stone crossing to get to the Labyrinth. Stairs and stepping stones can be avoided by using the Five Pipes entrance and coming into the park down the Red Trail.
No electricity or water.
No bathrooms.
Please note this space does not have a roof.
This is a carry in, carry out space. There are trash receptacles at the Puffin Way entrance, but not Glenpointe.
Group Use Expectations:
Group(s) must abide by the following regulations, which will be strictly enforced:
Groups should have their permits available (paper or electronic) to provide upon request for Conservancy staff/volunteers, Overpeck County Park staff, or other County personnel. (Teaneck Creek Park is a County Park).
Stay on trails at all times. Do not enter wetlands, ponds, or garden beds. No fishing, no swimming, no boating.
All rental spaces are only accessible by foot. A handcart or wagon is permited to aid in carrying materials into the park.
Do not pick plants or disturb the natural habitat in any way.
Do not touch, capture, feed, or harass animals.
No nails, staples, glue, or tape may be used to hang signage or decorations.
No markings of any kind, including but not limited to chalk and paint, shall be applied to roads, paths, walkways, trees, buildings, furniture, or other structures.
No tents or other structures are permitted.
Do not litter. Dispose of refuse in appropriate on-site containers; recycle plastic and glass in on-site containers.
No grills, no barbecues, no fires.
No dogs off leash, no bicycles, no alcohol.
Keep noise to a minimum.
While music and activities are acceptable, no loud music or races.
Rented space must be returned to the condition that it was found upon arrival.
If you create ephemeral art during your program, please return all natural items to where you found them before departing. If you would like to leave the art after your group departure, you must secure special approval in advance.
This permit does not cover filming. For more information on filming in Bergen County Parks, please visit the Bergen County Film & TV Office.
A permit to use park space does not constitute access to the Puffin Cultural Forum or Puffin Foundation office, or other spaces in the Overpeck County Park System.
Hours for the Overpeck County Park system are 6:00am - 10:00pm. Remember that people other than your group have the right to use the park during your permit time here.
Non-compliant groups will lose their privilege to obtain rent space.
