BCAS Father's Day Walk

As summer approaches, the park comes alive with birdsong and wildlife activity. Join Bergen County Audubon and TCC this Father’s Day for a guided walk through the park as we search for birds, observe seasonal changes, and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature in full bloom.

BCAS offers two walks monthly at Teaneck Creek. Birders of all levels and interests are welcome to attend; guides will be available to help newer birders with bird ID. Programs with BCAS are part of TCC's year-round suite of free public programs.

Registration recommended.
All ages. Rain or Shine.  
Some trail sections are challenging for strollers. No restrooms available.

Teaneck Creek Conservancy is excited to join the Ridgefield Park Earth Day Celebration! Stop by our table to learn more about our conservation efforts, explore ways to get involved in protecting local ecosystems, and create eco-friendly crafts. We’ll also have information on how you can support Teaneck Creek and its surrounding habitats.

The event will also feature mini eco-cruises, live animal shows, face painting, food, and more, along with educational tables and local vendors. It’s a day of fun, learning, and community connection. Join us to celebrate Earth Day and support sustainability!

Teaneck Creek Conservancy is excited to be part of Nature Day 2025 at Tenafly Nature Center (TNC). This year’s theme, “Soaring Skyward,” celebrates birds, butterflies, and all things sky-related and we’ll be joining in the fun with a creative nature-inspired craft.

Visit our table to:

  • Create your own sky-themed artwork inspired by birds, butterflies, and the natural world

  • Learn about native pollinators and the importance of healthy habitats

  • Discover how Teaneck Creek Conservancy is working to protect local ecosystems

  • Connect with our team and find out how to get involved at the Creek

Nature Day is a full celebration of the outdoors and will also feature:

  • 2025 Butterfly House Grand Opening

  • Live birds of prey and animal encounters

  • Snakes and reptile interactions

  • Storytime with Tenafly Library

  • STEM activities and crafts

  • Canoes on Pfister’s Pond

  • Games, scavenger hunts, and local vendors

  • Food trucks and more

The event is rain or shine. All ages welcome—children must be accompanied by an adult.

Please note: The TNC parking lot will be closed. Free shuttle service runs from the Borough Hall/Public Library lot (100 Riveredge Rd) between 9:45 AM and 4:15 PM. Limited street parking is available on Hudson Ave (steep walk required).

Community Science Saturday: Budding Flowers

With spring in full bloom, are you curious about which plants are emerging and which wildlife are leaving tracks at the Creek?

Explore TCC through the seasons on a walk with George Tsapellas and participate in community science by learning how to document what you see on your phone using iNaturalist or Seek. Each month will highlight a different part of the park, focusing on specific habitats and plants.

George is an avid user of iNaturalist and has been cultivating knowledge about local plants and wildlife for many years.

Prior to the program, install the iNaturalist app on your phone, create an account, and join Teaneck Creek Conservancy under “Projects”.

Seek by iNaturalist is available for younger participants.

Creekside Adventures Storytime

Join us for nature stories, adventures and fun activities with the Teaneck Public Library and TCC!  We’ll gather for a total of 6 classes so come for one or for all. Best for ages 4 and up with a caregiver.

Wear weather-appropriate clothing and shoes - trails may be muddy. And bring water shoes or boots if we go in the creek! Bring insect repellent and sunscreen if you choose. 

Additional program dates: June 24, July 1, 8, 15, 29.

Meet at 74 Fycke Lane entrance.

Register with the library. Registration opens 4pm Monday, June 3rd.

Light rain or shine. Registrants will be notified if the program is canceled due to weather. 
Some trail sections are challenging for strollers. No restrooms available.
