This week’s highlighted visitor: The Tree Swallow!

These birds prefer open spaces, Tree Swallows are striking birds with iridescent blue-green feathers and white bellies. These agile birds are often seen swooping and darting through the air, catching insects on the wing. Their cheerful, twittering calls can be heard as they glide over fields, wetlands, and even suburban backyards, where they often nest in cavities or man-made birdhouses.

Teaneck Creek has many bird houses available for Tree Swallows.
