This week’s highlighted visitor: The Eastern Cottontail Rabbit!

A rabbit found throughout backyards and forests, Eastern Cottontails are small, quick creatures with soft brown fur and a signature white tail that flicks up when they bound away. These nimble animals hop across lawns and meadows in short bursts, pausing to nibble on grass or weeds before darting off again at the slightest sound. Their soft, almost silent movements and large, attentive ears make them a common sight at dawn and dusk, when they are most active.

Despite the ecological changes to Teaneck Creek Park, Peter Cottontail and friends still call Teaneck Creek home.
